LG Optimus Vu 5 inch Tablet with 1.5 GHz dual core processor

LG has announced the new Optiimus Vu tablet at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The Optimus Vu has a 5 inch (12.7 centimeters) wide IPS display, so it's almost as big as giants Samsung smartphone. A special feature is the unusual aspect ratio of 4:3 for smartphones, so the Optimus Vu is significantly wider than other devices. The resolution is 1,024 x 768 pixels. The screen can also be operated by stylus.

It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, speed of Qualcomm (MSM8660). For photo and video recordings, there is a built-in rear camera with 8 megapixel resolution and LED flash. A second camera on the front allows Videocalls. The internal memory is 32 GB.

In addition, the new UMTS HSPA and LTE are supported, and there is a HDMI output and DLNA support. In addition, a receiver for T-DMB is installed, which is intended for radio and television reception in this country, however, is useless.

LG plans to start shipping the Optimus Vu still with the Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". The South Korean manufacturer but will publish an update at a later date on the latest Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich".
